Adobe PDF

Adobe PDF is a small, secure file that enables documents to be downloaded onto your PC and retain their original hard copy format.

Downloading free Adobe Acrobat Reader
You will need a free Adobe Acrobat Reader which you can download from the Adobe website. (You may want to print these instructions for reference before clicking on this link.)

On the Adobe website, make sure you choose the right platform in the drop-down box before you download - it should correspond to your operating system (e.g. Windows 98).

Make a note of where you have downloaded the installation file, then after the download has completed, locate it on your computer and double-click on it. The installation program will do the rest.

You are now able to read Adobe PDFs!

Troubleshooting
I've clicked on the link but my browser's just gone blank.

Browsers have different ways of downloading PDFs. Most will show a progress meter having asked you where you would like the file to download to on your machine. However, some browsers (such as Explorer 5 with Acrobat 4) load in the PDF page by page and don't show a progress meter. In fact it is downloading - the first page should appear after a few minutes.

I've downloaded the file but nothing has appeared.

You may need to go to where the file was downloaded on your local drive (probably your c:/windows/temp directory somewhere) and click on it from there. If it still doesn't work, your Reader is not working properly and should be reinstalled.

For further troubleshooting suggestions, see the Adobe website.
